Halloween Week

Halloween is not my favorite holiday, not even a close second, but we still had a lot of fun with the kids this week. I enjoy doing fall activities like carving pumpkins and treats for the kids' classes at school, I guess it's just the costume stuff that drives me crazy. Anyway, here's what we've done this week:

Monday

The kids LOVE carving pumpkins. The excitment starts way back in the spring when we plant the garden and watch our seeds turn into vines, and later pumpkins. Each child chooses their "baby pumpkin" and watches with pride as it grows bigger and bigger. After we've carved them they get so excited as Brad takes the pumpkins out and lights the candles. Then they rush out and giggle and smile like its Christmas and are seeing what Santa brought them. So fun.

Wednesday

Tanner and his preschool teacher, Teacher Megan.
Funny story: Tanner has never been one to enjoy dressing up, not even for Halloween, so when they had a Halloween Party at school he was NOT happy. I got him all dressed up, all the while he's whining and telling me he doesn't like it. I compromised.....he dresses up for the party at school and lets me get a picture of him with his class, and I'd let him take his costume off after. Once we arrived at school, I got a picture of him with his teacher and then he immediately took his costume off. Every last piece of it! Oh well. What a goof!

Friday

A couple weeks ago Meagan came home from school with a flyer advertising a sewing class where they would make a trick-or-treat bag. I thought we could do it at home and Lindsay could do it with us....they had fun.

Didn't they turn out so cute!

Saturday

My crew...with the addition of cousin Kaylee (not loving the photo op).
Our Halloween Day tradition is homemade breadsticks with a pizza dip/sauce and a yummy Halloween drink..served with scoops of orange sherbet. Delish! My sister Aimee and her hubby Brennen and their cute little babe Kaylee enjoyed our dinner with us. Then we headed of to the Business Trick-or-Treat. Our town does a fun thing....all the businesses have a trick-or-treat outing for the kids at 4pm. It's really fun, still light outside, and usually fairly warm. Today was no exception. Thanks for coming up Fuller Fam!

The entire Matthews Fam...wish I'd taken a photo of the Fuller Fam too. :(

The most handsome pirate ever....who still was not excited about dressing up.

Linds...dead ghost. Not sure how much more dead you can get if you're a ghost, but hey, that's what she wanted. It may take awhile to comb out the rats' nest later on tonight.

Not the greatest timing ever, but anyway.....introducing, Hermione Granger!

I just couldn't resist the cute tooshie! Ellie.....the cutest little fairy!

Ellie ran out of steam during the trick-or-treating so I opted out and took her back. Once we got home she was mesmorized by the pumpkins. She got the biggest smile on her face and just sat down right next to them, like they were her best friends. She sat there for about 5 minutes just smiling and jabbering at them.
When Brad and the kids came home we ate candy (alot of candy) and played a game of "Sorry" together.....Meag won! What a great day....and night!

Hope you had a Happy Halloween too!

Fashion and Hunter Safety

There are hunter safety classes in our future....most definitely. Tanner's "brandishing" of weapons is a tad scary, even for the most seasoned of hunters and gun owners.....

I told Tanner to go get dressed for preschool and this is what he came up with. Holey jeans and no shirt...classy. I ignore him while I get the girls ready for school and then I here him saying, "Mom, c'mere. Look!" Then he proceeds to show me his excellent shooting skills: run wild, wave the gun, and pull the trigger...nice! I guess we have a few things to work on, actually more than a few, but at the top of the list......fashion and hunter safety!

Conference and Birthdays

I love Conference weekend, the chance to listen to our prophet, eat treats during "church" while wearing jammies, and to hang out with family. This weekend was no different! Thanks Michael and Heidi for the invite....we had so much fun!

The kids were really good to listen too. I thought I'd taken a ton of pictures, but this is the only one with Maddie.

Linds and Cydnee

I'm sure the adults are in deep discussion about a conference talk! ;)

Tanner enjoying his conference weekend watching a movie on the home theater system that Michael and Heidi have in their basement. It is AWESOME! After the priesthood session, the adults watched a movie....amazing!

Cydnee and Kyle

Linds and Abbey

Cody, Tanner, Taylor, Meag, Holden

We also got to celebrate this handsome young man's 4th Birthday! Love you Kayden!

All smiles!

It was also Kaylee's 1st Birthday.......Love you Kaylee Bug!

So sad. Once everyone gathered around, turned off the lights, and started singing, she looked around and got so scared. Way too much attention! She did eventually get to enjoy her cute birthday cake! Thanks for letting us share in her special day!
